Thread regarding Twitter layoffs

Twitter was poorly managed

Maybe those who are affected will not agree, but I think that this company was poorly managed before and that EM had to do this in order to stop the decline of the company.

I know this is an unpopular opinion, but let's get real here......

Not unpopular at all. It's been well known to be bloated & poorly managed from prior CEO (with fingers in too many pies) down for months. Nay years. The person/peoplewho hoodwinked Musk into buying it deserve medals!

Yes: The Board Parag and Ned are to blame. Parag had zero people management experience and a total nerd. Ned knew the numbers and hid them. Hope they get no golden parachute. Poor decision making, lack of decision making. Why not ask for 4 billion punitive damages, and let Elon go when he said he was no longer interested?

Those id--ts who ran Twitter are to blame for pushing this deal. Elon is a brute and is destroying Twitter culture, but Twitter would have at least 25% cut anyway and struggle to survive. I suspect Elon will dissolve Twitter in six months after filing Bankruptcy, and merge it into SpaceX as an AP

It’s a fact, Twitter was in some financial peril. Gross mismanagement and inability to keep the P&L moving out of the red and onto the black. There’s been talk for a long time on how long they could stay afloat. EM’s buyout offer literally saved those executives from losing face and their reputations. They were exceptionally bad managers.

So you’re saying Twitter was on a side?

Musk adds even more poor management!

Without proper planning, his reckless layoff ended asking some back.

While money is easy and cheap, companies can sell bonds (include junk) to spend even without profits. Many will end with poor management, not just Twitter.

Do be aware one thing, don't be fooled by Republicans who salute Musk. They care neither Twitter staff nor the business. They want Twitter to switch side.

It's not a subjective matter of agreeing or disagreeing; Parag & Co ran the company into the ground; the financial statements and cold hard numbers don't lie. The corporate strategy also seemed to be completely insane, with no coherent road to growth and sustained profitability. This is what happens when you hire the wrong people to lead, they get caught up in their own egos, thinking their job is to "change the world", instead of making money for their shareholders. Good riddance and if they are ever hired again to run anything, run to the hills.
