Colleagues continue to leave. All I know is that I can no longer and will not accept any additional responsibilities and additional work. Am I wrong or is attrition not slowing down at all?
On the other hand, I know some people who are now jobless, but would never accept an offer here. This is starting to become worrying.

Well it used to be a guy named Widetrack, not sure now.
Long time listener, first time caller here. From the sounds of things, leadership at Devon is toxic, but nothing is being done to address it? Am I understanding that right?
With jobs, you do what you have to do, so taking an offer from a terrible place isn’t alway good or bad. In the case of Devon, you’ll get a severance package, so if you always plan to be let go, you’ll come out ahead.
Okay, I will take that bait...
Just because someone gets SO mixed up that they want to go back to Devon does not make it a good idea! I once thought about moving back to Texas and working somewhere with more options. Then I got stuck in a 3 hour traffic jam trying to get the Bush airport due to a Trump campaign visit. I thank god for the wakeup call.
The truth is that few companies besides maybe GE or channel 5 news which have had the history of bad management that Devon has.
But did that greener grass have DD, JR, TL, DH, GJ, KL, TB, TC like leaders? Was it a toxic fiery scape where the unethical thrived like they do here?
The people i speak too that seem most likely to return to devon are those that quit. The RIFs just start describing the large set of inanimate objects that was devon senior management from 2009-2020.
People that walked out always say that the green grass they ran to might have been better but it also melted down with time.
Just search LinkedIn for former Devonites. They will gladly come back for the pay and daily abuse. That’s really the only applicant pool we have left.
If you're a glutton for punishment, then work for Devon.
Biggest reasons being a backstabbing, cutthroat culture, especially if they are IT or Data roles in IT. Also in the Delaware Basin business unit. Stay far from there. The VP and his lieutenants will end you if you don’t drink the koolaid and ask too many questions.
Attrition seem to be a problem in lots o major E&P as well. I have been applying to jobs in Devon. What are the biggest reasons not to take an offer?
