Work Flexibility Fantasy

Once again refining employees get promised ‘X’ and receive ‘Y’ that is << ‘X’. It appears management is taking cues from the Biden administration. Refining’s version of the “Flexible Work Policy” enhances work flexibility as much as the Inflation Reduction Act reduces inflation. Might as well not have even given us the option; it’s just a slap-in-the-face, half-hearted attempt by management to simply slow attrition. I don’t see how it’s going to retain anyone who McKinsey won’t “transform”.

Meh, that’s the nature of working at a plant. That’s about as good as it could be for ops folks.

I’d prefer we employ Americans and not offshore good paying jobs to the third world to save a buck. You know, strength, honor, commitment…or something. I’m pretty sure that doesn’t apply if consultants are running the show.

Can WFH a day a week on the week you don't get your 9/80, and you have to be close enough to respond to plant emergencies.

I'm not too broke up about remote work, you know McKinsey's first move would be to fire anyone that can do their job totally remotely and hire someone from L&T to do it for a third the price in India...

What did they roll out? I know finance and IT office workers have some flexibility but only after a significant amount of attrition. However, I still see plenty of people leaving. Work from work lol!

Agreed. So many engineers, procurement, and finance employees walking out the door. No one wants to wait around for the axe to fall.
