More propaganda, nothing surprising. They're gonna try as hard as they can to put the genie back in the bottle no matter how impossible it is.
Don't get scared back into the office - if you are worried about getting cut then you should be going to another company.
I would cut the reports in the office. They are so hard to deal with.
Out of sight, out of mind, if I were the boss I'd do the same, no surprise here.
However, if absolutely everybody is remote, that's a different story.
(one time in school we all decided to skip a boring class and we did, except for one guy who went back, the prof found him alone in the classroom, he was in good standing throughout college, but no one liked him)
