Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

Company ethics

I'm wondering whether Citrix is the company with the worst ethics of all the ones you worked for before? For me, it definitely is. I still care about keeping my job because the bills need to be paid, but on the other hand, I would like to be cut, just for that reason.

Right now it is up there. But it is a corporation and that means it is not designed around ethics. It is not designed around you or your customers. Historically the average worker will not get the same love as executives either in day to day work or when shown the door. Citrix is nothing new, just various degrees of pain and suffering. You cannot make sense of it. Look up the mental health comparison of corporations and you will see why.

It is the same as IBM, you are simply a number.

I guess it depends on which timeframe you are referring to. If you mean historical Citrix then yeah ups and downs but I found my personal experience pretty good. If you mean now, there is no Citrix. Lots of people direct a lot of Citrix for this current nonsense. I’d certainly blame them for getting us into this spot. But once pen went to paper on 9/30, Citrix ended and they no longer us any leverage.

It depends on who you’re speaking with. HR and directors will lecture you on respect, if you speak truth to power. However these same people have no problem lying to their subs.

I remember joining this company thinking it really cared about their employees. Found it to be reasonably true, and all the sudden got a lot worse.

Definitely... and I once worked on Wall Street. The problem is that Vista is not in this to build a software company for the future. Vista is really just a speculator, buying and selling pieces to make a profit. Half the company can be fired and it wouldn't faze them one bit. It's all collateral damage to them. Truthfully, if they could figure out how to make the same revenue with only 10 percent of the current staff, they'd do it in a heartbeat.
