After reading different studies, reports and feedback from varying company HR reps, its interesting to me to see how the new re-adjusted way of thinking potential hiring candidates have.
First, Citi does not pay well, upon asking initially what is the pay range, if not given up front, they go ahead and retract the job submission. Often times with the comment something to the tune of “I don’t want to waste my time, if you’re not going to tell me the pay, then retract my submission.”
Second, everyone wants to work from home. Most full time. If this is not defined, then they leave. There have been times to where postings may say “remote work or hybrid work” and then when hired the employee is told “well we do offer remote work but it depends on your manager and your manager says no.” So, the employee resigns immediately.
Third, the statement of “what have you done for me lately” is a two way street. While this may be a common statement given to employees by managers all with the under tone of “you better crank out the work”, the employee asks the same thing. Well, I’m working hard, what have YOU Citi, done for me lately. The answer of “we pay you” is, by the employee, considered not a good answer as pay is an agreed upon exchange of money of services. Its a given trade that’s agreed upon as you SHOULD pay me for my work, so again, “what have you done for me lately”.
