Applying internally after a short time here

I've only been at Raytheon for a few months. Long story short: I would like to apply for an internal position, but I'm still hesitating because I don't know if that would be a good idea since I've only been here for a short time? I got advice from some colleagues to wait a little longer because it would look bad.

Since you're new I would wait one year and no sooner. Why? Well if you get one good evaluation under your belt it would make it easier for an internal interview for a transfer. You can at least show you can work in the current environment.

You can change, under particular circumstances. I was allowed to change groups/function/departments before my 1 year because the program I was supporting was being destaffed after the customer requested a stop work...due to poor financial management by RTX

Very unusual circumstances, good luck

If you’ve only been here a few months, you are not eligible to apply for another job until you’ve been on the job for at least 12 months. Now have folks been moved around in spite of your same situation? Absolutely. It just depends if someone is high enough in the food chain to make it happen.
