I've been around long enough to remember when Vic Lund said that we sell Bentleys, not Yugos. I feel like we still operate with that mentality. One can only hope that our strategy is similar to Bentley....get bought by a bigger, better run company.

VL was a grocer and in way over his head at Teradata. If he wanted to sell Bentleys, he should have become CEO of Whole Foods.
When VL took over the first time he had one job. ONE JOB. To hire and groom his successor. And what happened? After three years of grooming OR, he fired him in 11 months. Epic fail. So whats the reward? Hire VL back for another boatload of cash.
Hiring VL twice as CEO shows how bad the board is. And paying him over $20M to tell stories about his grandkids was probable the most excessive compensation ever. Sad…
No takers. Modern cloud- centric code base companies don’t need what TD has to offer. They already stole the top talent for free.
