I left a month ago. I know I could have waited for severance but I didn't want to risk not being able to find a job when everybody is laid off and looking at the same time. I have no regrets. My new job is with a smaller company and the difference in culture is huge. People are friendly, my manager is helpful, and the overall atmosphere is infinitely better. There is life after Citrix, folks, and it's a good one.

Depends on where the poster is located. In some countries (majority of EU) you have guaranteed severance ranging from two to six months based on the length of your contract.
What's your calculations on this "Happy for you mate. Im staying till severance. For me it will be 3 months pay. That will be enough time to find another job." There hasn't been a policy or equation for severance yet.
