Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

Motivating employees to leave

Citrix does not care at all that the best are leaving. As for me, I definitely intend to leave, but I'm afraid that it will be too late for this company when they realize that they have done irreparable damage to it.

It's easy to cut people and demoralize them to a point that they decide to leave, but what will happen after that? Nothing good.

No argument here. PE and ethics don't usually go together.

This is very true, but it does not excuse unethical behaviour.

Capitalism is capitalism. The issue here is that this isn't an Apple that has a mission for its products. Rather, this is an equity firm that simply wants to assemble pieces that add up to a profit; any one piece doesn't particularly matter to them. They have every right to do this - just as we have every right to choose to work here or not. There is no sense in expecting PE to be anything other than what it is. Krause is going to be gone in two years, off to chop up another company.

Yes, PE is the Private Equity owner of the cluster of legacy software companies now known as the Cloud Software Group. They typically focus on financial metrics as a way to determine what to do with the Troubled Assets they choose to acquire and optimize.

To the person who posted "The PE owners have never said they care about you..." – "PE" equals "private equity", right?

I weighed my options and decided to leave under my own accord. It allowed me to be in charge of my future and not some greedy group of capitalists. I’m glad I made that choice. It’s sort of like when a relationship goes south and you decide to end it rather than endure months of pain. My advice…find a good company that has integrity and don’t look back.

How many times must it be said, there is no Citrix. The PE owners have never said they care about you, or the folks at TIBCO. They can't do any more irreparable damage than was already done by the prior leadership teams. And, the 'best' are long gone by now.

Move along, there's nothing left to discuss on this topic...

What can you expect ? I am in same position on the Tibco side. It’s all about money and people, good workers, etc are disposable assets.
