Plans for a walk-in medical facility to acquire the Westwood, NJ Kmart are making significant progress and are very close to being finalized. Barring any setbacks, finalization of the plans will come before the end of the following week. Once the plans are finalized a liquidation sale will begin. The medical facility will offer urgent care.

FALSE. This store is not closing this Year, and neither are Bridgehampton or Miami. STOP POSTING FALSE INFORMATION. Closings must have links posted, or else will be ignored. This is not optional. Get this through your thick skulls. LINKS OR IT DIDN'T HAPPEN. If the first line of a closing post does not have a link, it can be safely ignored. The ONLY full-line, stores currently closing, from this chain, are on SB360's site. If it ain't on there, STFU and don't post about it. End of story.

I know this article goes back a few months, but it is from 2022 and as of March there was no mention of anything happening at Westwood Kmart, other than it was staying open for foreseeable future.
This would make the local papers if true and thus far nothing has been said about this.
For what it’s worth… If the medical facility fits within the existing zoning laws of the community this might never be brought up at a town council or plan commission meeting. This especially holds true if there’s an existing business there
The minutes and agendas of the Westwood Borough Town Counsel are available online (Westwoodnj.gov). Counsel meetings were held on September 6, and 20; there is no mention of the Kmart property. A planning board meeting was held on September 8; there are references to several other properties, but not to Kmart.
Best to find a doctor elsewhere because there is no clinic on the way.
can you please tell us the source of this information?
If it has Kmart over the door, it's closing
OUR store is NOT closing !!!
This is kind of old news. Talks have been going since this summer.
That's what they did to the Sears Auto Center in Paramus: https://www.atlantichealth.org/locations/outpatient-centers/paramus.html.
However, I don't see any evidence of the same for the Westwood Kmart. That location is much bigger than the typical walk-in facility. Plus, the property needs serious remediation beyond the store itself.
This was discussed at Westwood's Town Council meeting in Sept. Glad to see it's going to go through.
About time. With the Miami location being subdivided for At Home all we need is for Target to take over the Bridgehampton location as had been destined since 1999 and the memory of Kmart gets washed off the mainland for good.
LMAO Yes, as they promised, Sears is diversifying its portfolio. They're now going into medical care, and you can still purchase a lawn mower in the waiting room!
Can you please send a link to this information?
I heard about this awhile back. They will have many services such as X Rays, Bloodwork, routine check ups. It will serve the entire northern NJ and West NY area. This is a big development.
They have been discussing these plans for months. This will be a good addition to the community.
