Thread regarding Rockwell Automation Inc. layoffs

Rockwell’s influence is on the decline

The pandemic will be noted as the turning point for the fate of Rockwell Automation. Their influence in the automation hardware market will see a marked decline in the coming years. Automation architects and electrical systems designers were forced to wake from their reflex purchase of Rockwell products due to supply chain shortages. While these shortages also existed with other manufacturers, the light now shines on the bloated and outdated business model for Rockwell products to market. The shift to open platform software development is now well underway. The extortion of system integrators through radical price increases is the last straw. Software platforms like CodeSys permit integrators to apply their code base to a multitude of manufacturers. Along with the limits imposed on integrators by a proprietary hardware platform, Rockwell clings to a seriously outdated hardware pricing model based on memory. Sadly, Rockwell will hold fast to their weaknesses because they are too dependent upon them. This will be their demise.

And we got two clowns from 3M to put the few final nails in the coffin. Both were failures there and now “leading” us with their copy paste ppts.
