Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

More people are leaving

The management is happy to see them go. They're not even trying to backfill their positions. This makes me think our store might be among those slated for closing. Not that I care. I've been going through the motions for months. If it happens, it happens. I won't destroy my mental health by stressing over losing a job in this dump.

@ohp: is your store closing or people just jumping ship because of chain's situation? What size store?

They probably don't figure they can afford to raise pay on the floor because of the golden parachutes going to corporate when this all winds up.

In my store there's nobody left to leave and I'm it. I'm the only sales associate left abd I'm actively looking for something else. I'm scheduled for one side or the other and always end up at customer service because there is no one else. We only have people available to cashierbin the evenings and weekends because this job is either their second job or they're students. It's really craziness right now. People are hired but no show on their first day or don't show up at all for their interviews. Low hours plus little pay leads to something like this. I'd say that Bed Bath should get a clue but at this point I'm sure that they can't afford to raise pay. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Now dept supervisors are scheduled to run rregisters. Probably the new norm.
