Despite the risk of long covid, new co. ELT encouraging attendance of the GEM at an on-site watch room. At FTL at least, that's hundreds of people packed together, sitting shoulder-to-shoulder. I, of course, will not attend that way (I'll use the web link), since I care whether I get covid, unlike them.

Lol my entire family had covid two weeks ago. It’s still going around.
Covid over? Then why do I know at least 8 vaxed people who have either had it recently or have it now and have been dealing with symptoms for weeks. Maybe long covid? Maybe long term internal damage? Who knows?
If you are flying, going to the mall, your local supermarket or to indoor dining, you have the same risk exposure as sitting in a well ventilated room, which is low assuming a vaccinated population. If you are not vaccinated, then that's a different story.
If you are under the weather, do the right thing and stay at home. I am sure that TK can quickly calculate that it's best for you to stay away vs. to have you come in and pass flu to the whole campus to take a productivity hit.

The HR team encourages employees to wear a mask, just to be safe. It's flu season and some people who are sick may attend the GEM in person. The COVID risk is assumed to be low in Florida, based on recent State government reports
