Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

GEM

Is everyone ready to be slightly pacified but mostly disappointed? I’m going into this thing with low expectations- expecting to get a few answers, but not as many as I’d like. I’m one of the ones who found myself yesterday without a team or leader representing them on the org chart.. sh---y feeling but doubtful to get answers for the next two weeks. If you think layoffs didn’t happen in bulk yesterday— they did via a PFD Org Chart that was released with missing groups..

"It's a sinking ship and like mentioned, so many customers are just stuck with this software that enables legacy apps and have moved on to modern alternatives"

So true, yet so much $$ in it. See it every day. Customer says they need to keep VDI for their 20 year old software. Not innovative but the customer is stuck with you. Ideal situation for a PE to keep milking this tired cow. And not many people needed to tend it.

I'm one of those that bailed a few months ago when the writing was on the wall about what was to come. It's a sinking ship and like mentioned, so many customers are just stuck with this software that enables legacy apps and have moved on to modern alternatives. This is coming directly from customers so it's just a matter of time.

Trying to milk the current customers won't always work. Plenty of companies will decide to stop paying for support, keep the current version of the software, and make plans to migrate to something else. So, you're losing existing customers, and you're not interested in getting new ones? BRILLIANT PLAN

Disappointed? I go into the GEM with low expectations, so I should be fine....

Most customers I have spoken with are moving away from Citrix. If it weren’t for our legacy products, Citrix would be bankrupt.

Couldn't agree more. It'll be a fluff-filled meeting with little to no meat. As always, the important part (Q&A) will be reduced to 4 minutes so that they don't have to answer the harsh, black & white questions coming their way.

Bring on the fluff...

Don't expect inspirational words from Krause until all the layoffs are complete. Also, is it really inspiring to tell current customers that the price of all products and services will be increasing? That's the PE plan, milk the legacy software cash cow for all it's worth

The GEM will offer some inspirational words about a bright future for Cloud Software Group. You will learn that some tough decisions will have to be made to get to that bright future. You will learn about ELT changes and BU organization and maybe some info on why RTO is important. You will be given a timeframe for when the massive restructuring might happen and you leave waiting to know when you or your org will be impacted.
