The truth is the company doesn't just pay for hotels and crazy dinners. People often spend their own money to upgrade themselves. If you travel a lot the company does allow you to accrue airline and hotel points from your work travel. Often when traveling people have been upgraded to better rooms by the hotel and not at macys cost. Same goes for airlines. If someone is actually doing something wrong report them. People have been fired for less

This is completely true.....the expense system is different for upper management....and they do not get fired! They even take their mistresses with them on some of these trips.

How about the meeting at the Langham Place Hotel in Manhattan. one room was over $2,500 per night. That didn’t get flagged. I think those shills are at it again.

What a joke of a thread.

Definitely a fake thread. All expenses go through iExpense and needs to be approved for re-imbursement. The corporate card is a FFF (food flowers and fun) card which is for store use. It has limited funds and yes, everything is tracked.

This isn't accurate... its meant to rile everyone up. Every expense charge is logged detailed and requires approvals. If you have a $300 dollar food bill for food it will get flagged. The employee would need to list out all of the people that joined them at the restaurant. If you stay in a hotel you have to supply all hotel receipts. Hotel options are also limited. If you believe someone is actually doing this... report it to HR. The company actually takes those issues very serious. They will either make the employee pay themselves or they could be fired. Employees have been fired for not using their expense accounts correctly.

We can't get decent fixtures or needed repairs for our store but these people can live it up. They keep cutting my hours though and treat us all like cr-p. The Titanic is slowly sinking folks they care more about useless graphics ,stupid DEI training and charity fundraising for groups that are pretty sketchy if you ask me (The Hispanic Alliance) really. Every customer I've waited on has said a big NO who the he-l are these people anyway.

Those are acceptable charges to an expense account if all the employees at the company are paid a living wage. A living wage means a SINGLE person working in any position in the company full time can afford to pay rent, a car not, insurence, food, child care costs, and other normal living expences. If a single mom working at macys full time making $15 per hour has to apply for government assistance because she can't afford food or rent, then that in NOT a living wage, therefore the executives should not be spending company money in such a wasteful way on luxury items.

This is nothing new. Whenever we have visits, they order a bunch of fancy food on the company credit. Or when they have parties for just the regular management in the stores, they are always ordering food on the company card. Nothing for us lowly people doing all the work, I don’t care about food, just give us a little bit of raise please better than a few cents. At least a $1 or $2 raise.
