Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Feeling stuck

I stopped thinking about advancing my career years ago. All I think about these days are layoffs and whether I'll still be employed this or next month. I would get a new job but people who are my age are not exactly a sought-after commodity. It feels like I'm stuck in limbo with no way out. It's depressing, to say the least.

I'm so sick of this term "quiet quitting" as if it's something wrong to fulfil the work agreement to the extent expected without going above and beyond. It's absolutely acceptable to do only what's agreed to and then use your own time and energies to create other opportunities for yourself.

(However, doing it on Ford time is not ok. Do your 40 and then you're time is yours.)

This is what I did Quite Quit and start a side business. Do it on Ford time since they don’t give a shxt about you. It is working out well and keeping me sane.

Good Luck to you.

I knew I wasn't going to advance years ago so I decided to start my own side hustle. I justified it by telling myself that the additional amount made up for the salary difference. I suggest you consider doing something on the side, whether it is a web design, selling on-line, etc. so you won't feel so depressing.
