Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

Since I've seen this question several times already

Why do yall people do them favors by quitting early I don't get it.

Some of us want to leave on our terms and with our dignity intact. I don't want to wait out a severance that might not even happen in the end. I don't want to be out of a job while job hunting since that would make it much harder to find a job. This and so many other reasons are why I don't care if I save the company what is considered to be pocket change by the leadership.

Those who claim to be 'adults' have anger management issues, and are apparently in denial that the decline of their comfort zone at Citrix has had no effect on them.

Your comments tell me otherwise. You should seek help, soon. You'll need it.

That's stupid. You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. Do you honestly think that everyone working for Citrix is mentally suffering? And who says anything about being a Citrix lifer? Take your ridiculous armchair psychology and shove it. You moved on? Good for you -- you're an inspiration to us all! We salute your fortitude! as----e.

"It's called being an adult." -- No, it's called being a typical Citrix Lifer coward that's afraid of change. You choose to accept the mediocrity of the Citrix culture because you lack the courage to move on. There's nothing 'adult' or noble about fearing a change. It's pitiful

Lol, so many posters are the equivalent of under-employed, over-educated millennial women complaining about their boyfriends. "He's a narcissist, with a totally toxic personality. I just hate him so much. Uh, why hasn't he texted be back yet? Is he going to break up with me?"

It's a job guys. If you don't like it, find a different one. If you can't find a different one, then stay at Citrix. I'm glad I left earlier this year, but if the job market hadn't been so hot last winter, I might still be at Citrix and still leading a normal life. It's work - its not always going to be fun.

If you feel "lasting damage" from a software company job, then maybe you need to see a psychiatrist and get some help. My "self worth" is perfectly fine, and I'll deal with whatever happens, whether it's here or somewhere else. It's called being an adult. You should try it.

Seriously, does anyone still believe that being subjected to the manipulation of the PE owners, and yet still choosing to stay, means that you have achieved anything worthwhile?

Think of the lasting damage that this prolonged negative experience will have on your self-worth. So no, I don't regret quitting when I did. There's no amount of Citrix severance that would make staying in that toxic environment worthwhile to me.

It takes courage to say enough-is-enough. I'm not doing them any favors. I'm merely caring for myself (ongoing well-being, and time to recover from all the worrying).

To each his own. There's no correct answer. You do what's best for you. That might not be what's best for someone else.
