No matter how anxious I am now about whether I will be cut or not, I try to be an optimist and think that a layoff can also be a good turning point in my career. How many people do you know who were got cut here but are now happier than ever? I know a lot of them who in many ways just stagnated here and probably would have continued to do so if they hadn't been laid off in the end. Good luck to all of us!

I totally agree. It can be a blessing in disguise. If it does happen, there are many people in many areas who are ready to retire and would actually welcome a resource reduction.
