Thread regarding NCR Corp. layoffs

There are plenty of people who deserve to be cut

Half of the upper management does nothing useful, but somehow they're always safe and we end up losing great employees instead. I wish for once the company would cut people who play with PowerPoint the whole day and contribute the least. Not that it will ever happen, of course.

Dirty Mike Boy good idea for a song LOL.
Yeah I agree too many layers of Management, my TM is practically non-existent except to approve our time and PTO. My Team Lead is really our Supervisor.
NCR needs to use more common sense and have some degree of etiquette which is missing badly in my area. Scheduling people to work network calls the night before you start your PTO is a spiteful move at least I think. There is such a sense of non caring it’s really bad.

NCR management lacks the vision to thrive in the 20th century. Too risk adverse. If they tripled their R&D budget and moved away from a commission based sales model, they might have a chance of thriving in the future.

If high level management had ANY management skills they would look to get rid of dead wood first level managers. Too many highly paid stupidvisors siting at home around the world that are not needed. The hierarchy can be seriously flattened and consolidated to save money reduce overhead.

Agree 100%. Some Managers run around all day bragging how they spent the day putting out fires and it was a mess. In reality their people put out the fires and the manager just kept bugging them for a status report so they could provide to LT.
