Thread regarding VMware layoffs

In case somebody doubted what was coming

"Also, we urge investors not to consider the acquisition of VMware as a bed of roses. Given VMware's much lower profitability profile than Broadcom's corporate average, Broadcom is expected to dissect VMware's business to maximize its operational efficiencies, to reduce the dilution of its organic margins profile."

Easiest way to look at VMWares final headcount number, bare minimum will be 1million revenue/headcount. That says VMware would have a max of 13,000 assuming all BUs are kept. A more realistic number would be 8,000 to 10,000

VMware has been about creating jobs, Broadcom is about making money.

VMware is about as lean as a morbidly obese blue whale!

CA Technologies was reducing and minimizing headcount for years before Broadcom acquired the. When Broadcom bought us we were very lean and they still found about 60-70% to cut.

If VMware is as bloated and headcount heavy as I’m hearing the cuts are going to be astronomical.

More stating the obvious, but I'm sure there are still thousands of doubters at the company.

Anyone who thinks Hock will somehow handle this acquisition differently, probably thought Vladamir Putin had changed, and would never attack a sovereign nation.

  1. No sh-t.
  1. You do realize seeking alpha is like one step above Reddit, right? Literally anyone can post articles. This JR research is just a dude named Jere Wang who gave himself a fancy sounding name but it’s not even a real entity, it’s just a guy writing articles in his free time.

It was a well known fact how bloated VMW is/was. Many of us worked hard, learned a lot, and took home big checks. It makes perfect sense that a lean, money making machine is buying VMW to capitalize.
