Thread regarding VMware layoffs

Replace ESPP with?

Great question on the AMA channel today:

"Since the 15% discount on the ESPP stock purchase is part of an employee's total compensation package, what is VMware planning to do to make employees whole?"

ESPP was considered a benefit and part of our total compensation package so its basically a pay cut to the tune of $2,250 a year if you put in the max 15% / $7,500.

Wonder what other benefits they have also agreed to cut/suspend before the actual acquisition closes?!

Rah-goo should donate his change in control payout to those who are fired.

Irrelevant and it will be gone. Plus doesn’t matter what VMware plans as VMware won’t have a say in it.

Question is irrelevant as you’d get a new contract that likely won’t include that clause.

I never considered it part of compensation personally. It's also a not huge amount of money either. So I suspect them to do nothing.

Rsus make sense to cut because it's less Broadcom overlords have to pay

Company may have already cut RSU grants.

Also FYI, Section 10: https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1124610/000112461014000008/ex10132007employeestockpur.htm
