How's the strike going on Montrose? Big turnout? Been offered a deal? Bottled it and signed the contract?

To all the Sami fanboys and fearties posting here, your logic makes as much sense as one of sami’s ret@rded emails.
If you have not realised we're in a cost of living crisis and you've got a company make 500 million+ profit trying to squeeze another 1.6 million a year out of shop floor workers. Come on eh. Are you blind. Discrimination against us. They bang on about health and we'll being. We're all one team. BS. If that was case why no one else being asked to give up money. The boy is a total fu---n clown of a man. The quicker he is moved on the better for everyone. Get a grip and realise this is just the beginning of the cuts!!!!!!
A lot of slagging here but let's be honest, is the strike working? Is anyone going to benefit from the strike or are the workers that have carried on working the ones that are better off because they haven't lost any wages? There's things worth fighting for but are you blinded by what the union has told you? Once again, how many people joined the union but didn't know why they joined, didn't strike and carried on working?
We all have families, houses, cars, holidays etc to pay for so think about whether it's better to have or have not. Up to you??
@2qqj+1iubxYFK
Machine shop is on strike, T&A have moved to Chay Road. Not a lot being machined, assembled and tested at Brent unless you've let the travellers move back into the car park and do a better job
Keep up the good work boys, we're on 2.9 this weekend!!!!
The whole Montrose COE selling point to customers is that everything can be done at Brent. Machined,built, tested then shipped out. If don't have that ,don't have a selling point. And to answer your question. Yes we the tattooed tanned boys do it better. You just go back to the building sites!
@2ocn+1iubxYFK
No sub con machine shops capable of doing a better job than the tattooed tanned boys then?
Have to say I have a lot of respect for the Frenchman. He now knows which workers he can rely on and will reduce the headcount without costing the company a single penny.
Maybe will, maybe will not. But one thing for sure is Sami has well and truly fu---d up. If you've not got a machine shop then Montrose is doomed!!!! What the fu-k are the pen pushers going to do? Maybe the ar-e lickers should of thought about that. The boys who crossed the picket cause scared of what the wife will say. Sad!!!!
Looks like a pointless strike which isn't going to benefit the strikers
was this the strike that no-one knew about and wasn't a strike after all?
Would rather earn less money and be happy and appreciated than work for them shower of cu-ts!!!. This Management team especially the baw bag in charge have not got a clue. Just puppets for the bigger boys. Resentment between shopfloor and them too far gone now! And he can stick his emails up his ar-e. No one is interested in anything he got to say. Boy is a blubbering clown!!!!
Union reps have as much sway as labourers do lets be honest. Its laughable that this strike even took place. Cant believe anyone is moaning about a 50k wage and working less than half the year! If thats not enough then use that time wisely making money working elsewhere🤷🏻♂️
@1dem+1iubxYFK
I'd rather have £40k and 3 kids to support than basic wage with 3 kids to support
@1ouv+1iubxYFK 20% of your income and pocket money are 2 slightly different things. You’re also not taking into account peoples situations are different, some have 3 kids some have no dependencies.
I signed
£10000 a year off a £50K+ a year wage is pocket money. What about people on minimum wage that have to pay the same energy costs?
@1kfa+1iubxYFK I can only hope if you were in a position to lose £10000 a year just as energy prices are away to go through the roof, that nobody would joke about if you went on strike.
Not much coverage on the news regarding the strike. Basically one report copied over a few news websites and social media pages.
I'd prefer to be non-union tbqh
I’ll sign the contract under duress, in front of my union representative anytime
