Thread regarding Merkle layoffs

Layoffs continue

I was just laid off from dentsu Merkle. Their only reason was “due to the recent operations financial forecast analysis, your position has been terminated, your last working day is today, within the next hour, your network access will be disabled.”

It is odd since last two quarters, dentsu has experienced increased revenue and through its acquisitions has dramatically expanded its customer base. And the unit I worked for was Merkle CXM who was the major contributor to dentsu’s growth over the last two years.

A bunch of bullsh-t if you ask me. No warning. Zoom call with VP of Delivery and HR rep.

Same! Just happened. I was given the exact same reason, half a days notice and only two weeks severence.

I was reassured on numerous occasions by the TA Supervisor I worked with that my position was safe..even though Project Managers, Sales Managers and other Recruiters were either quitting left and right or were being layed off, that everything was "fine" and "not to worry". I was totally misled.
Then I received a phone call/MS Teams call from the Senior Manager that my position was being eliminated due to restructuring. This was right before the start of the Holidays. I felt that even though I worked hard at what I did for the company? The manager's attitude and the way she addressed the issue with me was cold and impersonal and abrupt.
Looking back on it all, I should have went with my intuition..my gut feeling..and looked for another position during that time (but, being the professional I am..I felt it may have been unethical at the time)
Would I recommend working for Dentsu Aegis/Merkle? No. Absolutely not.

Same here, exact same process as you mentioned, without any warnings I was laid off, even though management assured us a while ago, that we will not be affected... so sad.

Same here. After working for two years with no real vocation, they schedule a meeting and get off with that reason. No warning, no two weeks. We are all just $ to the company sadly
