Thread regarding VMware layoffs

I'm quiet quitting until the acquisition

I'm well aware that when the acquisition goes through chances of me still being employed are very low. So instead of overexerting myself and doing much more than is my job, I'm going to do precisely what my contract says and no more. Then I'll take my severance and happily move on.

Why not?

Use that extra time bettering yourself with new courses, VMware's and other companies. Best case, you can put that new knowledge to use at VMware. Worst case, your CV looks better for the future.

Quiet Quitting shouldn't be seen as a negative all the time. Work smarter, not harder.
Long hours don't make you more productive.

Buy professionalism.. you sound like a damn fool. Must be one of the cloud sales leaders. You sound stupid like one of the obvious a-s hats over there.

We still have access to a lot of free training, through VMware and otherwise (AWS has a ton, for example).

Knowing how this will probably turn out, I've spent more time training for the next potential roles, whenever those may start.

So, you are doing your job vs being an overachiever? You realize you should have just been doing your job the entire time fight? Corporations don't give a sh-t
