I no longer even think of contacting HR when I have some issues.
Has there ever been a case when HR was on the side of the employee, really took that person's issue seriously and helped to solve it?

HR is there to protect the company.
FYI.... HR IS NEVER ON YOUR SIDE!!! It will always be on the store's!!! And as far as SOLUTIONS IN STORE (does it still exist?) They ate not on your side iether!!! Trust me! The one time I called Solutions In Store, it turned out to be an old HR manager I knew! Complete lies!!! Protect yourself!!
Human Resources are not your friends, they are there to protect the company. Also, anonymous surveys sent out by the company is rarely anonymous.
For people getting into the working world or starting their careers, HR is not there to be a sympathetic ear and will always do what's best for the company, not the employee. Even if it means doing everything they can to get rid of an employee that brings forth legitimate issues.
Also, if a company survey requires any of your information, requires you to log into a company account, or is tied in any way to you, it is not anonymous.
It's like that everywhere. HR is good for dispensing benefits but they will turn against you in a heartbeat if you complain about anything.
Human Resources is never going to side against the company it represents. Not Macy's, not anywhere. Human Resources, just like Asset Protection, is there to protect the company. Period. If you truly want protection of your interests, hire an attorney. I don't mean for this to sound harsh, it's just the reality of the situation. Good luck to you.
Nope. I have had the same issue and management is retaliating against me for contacting HR in first place. Even though it is illegal to do so, it is hard to really prove. Very shady company and unethical Macys. That is the magic of Macys 🤮
