DEI training is OPTIONAL people. Dont let them force you to do it. The more stupidty you agree to the more they will try and force down your throat. I refused to do it and you should do the same!!!

The DEI race scenario was totally fake. 1. No employee would ever ask for an ID unless prompted by the POS, in which case they can't be blamed. Just wouldn't happen. 2. Three regular price ties would not run $80. Try more like $150. Goes to show that the people coming up with this stuff have never been in a store.

The message about DEI on Insite (My Day) said it was "encouraged", not required. I have already heard many negative responses to it. My manager tried to get me to take the training today and I refused. I told her it was just propaganda. The store manager overheard it, and tried to tell me it was required, and I told him it is encouraged, not required. I told him I know what I read, but Insite has taken the message down. He told me that they were just trying to educate people and that I have to prove it is encouraged. I told him the same thing, that it is just propaganda, and it is not incumbent upon me to go find something that was taken down from the site, but, rather, incumbent upon him to use his connections to find the message. He now has the manager checking Instore Solutions to see if it is required. He is not used to getting pushback. He just wants to maximize his participation rate by lying to people about the training being required.

Years ago I was asked to be on a Diversity Council for a year and then could rotate out. I understood the purpose of it at that time but I couldn’t get out fast enough. The MTech Management at that time were very unsupportive of me and every call was a minimum hour and a half. Very annoying to say the least. Trying to have all of their Techs on the council at least once thanks to my former very liberal Dem Director. Stuff like that should be VOLUNTARY and you shouldn’t be pressured to do it which my lame former Manager did.

To the two individuals who shocked because I refused to take the DEI training . AGAIN IT IS OPTIONAL. Its a shame you are part of the clapping seals that feel this cr-p is important. I am also one of the only three people in my store who is unvacciated. I WILL NOT be pressured into to Jeff's liberal cr-p. You do realize your praising a company that laid off 4000 people after receiving millions of COVID relief funding, then gave them themselves huge bonuses. Think about that. Im not bi-----g I just refuse to be a clapping seal and a science experiment.

To those that refuse to take the training because they think it's meant to "divide us", where are you getting that from? Did you read it somewhere else and it's your favorite thing to repeat without actually knowing what you're saying?
I'm glad I come here for the entertainment, the disgruntled and ignorant comments are great! Especially from those who supposedly are no longer with Macys and are happier than ever, but decide to spend their free time still bi-----g about Macys. Keep it up!

I'm glad to have a fellow "gem" in the jewelry box of life. I too help everyone. Always have. Many of my co-workers question why I work as hard as I do for what I'm being paid. The answer: a good work ethic instilled in me by my parents. I don't work hard for Macy's, I work hard because I take pride in myself. The original poster is absolutely right: Don't be a sheep.

To the person who said i must be a real gem to work with you are right. Unlike alot of selfish employees I am the one who helps everyone. I help new hires when they are dumped on the floor to find for themselves, i unload trucks because we have a society of lazy incompetent younger people who wouldn't know a hard days work if it came up and bit them on the a-s. Im the employee who willingly gave a weeks vacation to an employee who was receiving chemo after cancer surgery and ran out of vacation days. That's right im a horrible person because I don't want to be indoctrinated by Jeffrey and his group of political preachy wusses. The world would be a better place without dividing people into interest groups. I refuse to do DEI training because I am a good person and not a mindless sheep!!!

To the person who wanted to know why I refused to take the DEI training this is my reason. I was born into a family who taught me right from wrong, good from evil. I don't care what color your skin is if your a man dressed as a woman or if you can't speak English well enough fir me to understand you. If your a jerk to me im going to treat you like you treat me. No app on your phone or preachy politically correct video can teach you that. Macys has way bigger problems than this cr-p and should direct funding to those problems instead of making people who want to divide us rich. ENOUGH SAID!!I have directed more of my colleagues to say no to this stupidity.

The only people that should be taking the training are management because they are the ones discriminating the most.

Macy’s needs to do training on reverse discrimination.

What reason or reasons do you have for refusing? Just because it's something you're asked to do? I used to be that way too when I was a child.

DEI is the acronym for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion. I had to think a moment and then laughed at myself as I installed the lettering in our hallway just a few days ago.
