Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Double Standards

I am a store manager and when the weather is bad, we are expected to drive specialty sales and installs. We are told by DM's that there are no excuses for missing plan. Then Marvin comes out and says we missed company sales due to a late spring? WTF?

My DM in the south is about effective as our delivery program.

I’ve said this countless times about Lowe’s; when sales are good it’s the brilliance of corporate that made the difference. When sales are bad it’s the lazy associates in the stores failing to execute the plan that caused the lackluster results not the severe under-staffing of the store or the stupidity of corporate or how we have to pi-p the Lowe’s credit card and protection plan or the 3rd party delivery team.

Yes this is true, not a realistic expectation, but true. The issue is that the CEO of the company is using it as an excuse when the store leadership is told it's not an excuse.

Lying, greed and double standards are the Lowe's values. This company will say anything to get what they want, realistic or not, and will say anything to defend what they do, honest or not. Very untrustworthy and shady. It's hard to believe that people keep buying in to the lies and putting up with the double standards.

As a SM you should know that you will always be expected to make plan, period. If you can't handle that, then you need to drop back down to ASM or get out of corporate retail. Of course the CEO can get away with saying it, but shareholders like myself see completely through it as an unacceptable excuse.
