As someone said, they can do whatever they want. Nothing is guaranteed here. Maybe I'm worrying too much, but I really hope there shouldn't be any changes to the severance plan?
I would most like to receive a new offer in the meantime and I would be happy to leave that "generous" package to them, just to get out of here as soon as possible.

There is no law to give any severance. For all we know we might get nothing at all. Unlikely but you should be prepared for it. We should all have our resumes updated as nobody knows who will survive. Citrix sounds like a bad company seeing all the people on their board complain about it so no idea why anyone would want to stay in the new company.
