When the acquisition of IBI was completed, the layoffs occurred on the first Friday of Feb 2022. We got the "all company" email the day before
It’s not an all-company invite. Sales didn’t receive the invitation.
What division? I did not receive any invites.
That organization update meeting is for everyone -- but who knows what happens afterwards, especially if Quinn is talking.
I just got a meeting invite for tomorrow morning about an "organization update". Any else get this or only the people being terminated get this meeting invite?
I completely agree, even though I am in engineering I am expecting to be let go similar to how majority of people in my org feels. Nothing is being communicated at all, everything is being cancelled and nobody knows what's going on on the manager and skip manager level know absolutely nothing either.
I know it can be nerve-wracking to wait for answers, but we're not going to have all the answers today. There are going to be a lot of layoffs, as that is what happens when any two large companies merge. Whether it's next month or two or three or four, it's coming. Just be prepared as best you can. Thousands and thousands of people have had to deal with layoffs in the tech industry. There are other companies in the world to work for, if it comes to that. If you're good at what you do, you will be employed somewhere. Life will go on.
You are not going to know where you fit just yet. Every business unit covers every person in the company. The managers and teams are yet to be determined. It's not happening next week. It's too soon. Krause is traveling overseas to meet with those teams. And, to repeat, the deal hasn't closed so the companies have not merged! There are no official business units yet! They aren't going to lay people off because of the new units until he new units are actually in place - which cannot happen until the deal closes.
The infographic of the timeline is posted on the tibco intranet. Believe what you want to believe but it's looking like we will see the first round of layoffs next week or September. Why keep people around when they are doing nothing and getting paid which a lot of folks are doing and once they announce the new business units if your group doesn't fall under one of those why would they keep you.
is there a minimum on the severance package. Say if you worked less than a year in the company. Do they start you off with a 4 week package?
That's what they were doing all of august deciding the new leaders/verticals essentially we will know which fat is being trimmed. It will be apparent in the next week or two if you will be part of the merger or not.
Typical TIBCO severance is one week per year, but of course they can do anything they want, it's not a law or anything.
End of August/beginning of September? That sounds wrong and not what I heard. Next week is the end of August, and then it's Labor Day. Deal hasn't even closed yet. Nobody is getting laid off until that happens.
Anyone have any ideas how the severance packages will look like?
It's going to be brutal ....
He told us end of August/Beginning September will be the first round of layoffs. Then the delayed layoffs will happen in November/December those folks will be part of transitionary team. If you don't get let go between those two layoff rounds you survive in the new company.
What total silence? Krause has already laid out the timeline for all to hear. It's way too soon for anything to happen. You're not going to know your fate until later in the year.
Total silence on the issue scares me.
