Thread regarding Shell Oil layoffs

It could be much worse

There are worse things than working for a company run by those who you don’t agree with. Shell is not ideal but it pays well and provides good benefits, which is more than you can say for most other places. Not to mention being unemployed. There are plenty of worse options than this.

Good to know. So, fu-k the overbearing corporate nanny intrusions.
And I give myself retroactive pay raises in line with inflation.

Anywhere you work, ANYWHERE, you will find that spectrum of people you (1) really get on with, (2) are indifferent towards and (3) think are total jerks. It’s called “life” and how well you navigate it is up to you.

If you’re unhappy with your supervisors/management, you can (1) adapt, (2) bite your tongue and wait them out or (3) find another employer.

Agreed. Flesh eating disease would be worse. Bone cancer. Getting mangled in a combine. All worse. Thank you for the condescending lecture. What is this, kindergarten?
