Thread regarding Raymond James Financial Inc. layoffs

Just curious...of those RIF'd two years ago...

I personally haven't been at RJ in a long time but I spent a couple decades there previously. A thought that crossed my mind when I keep hearing different names impacted by the RIF two years is that the UBSers and their crews all stayed, but the vast majority of those let go were long tenured and solid to high performers. The RIF almost feels like it was motivated by a desire to whack a group of the people with large vested interest in the profit sharing and employee stock ownership plans since those are based on tenure and comp. After the RIF, all the folks that came over ten years or so ago from UBS had to see a significant jump in their vested interest in those two plans. Just makes you wonder if the RIF was really about cost cutting, or about some executives finding a way to pad their (and their buddies) retirements even more. I'm curious if anyone impacted by it may have spoken to any attorney about legal actions against them since the RIF really looked a lot like age discrimination with a purpose for personal gain by leadership.
