Since they took the Anchorage and Honolulu Home and Life stores off the store locator earlier this week, it's possible Stores are being deleted from the list before public announcements?

And the list of company-owned small-format stores is down to 5 from 7, with the closings announced this week in Anchorage and Honolulu.

"How many stores were there at the peak?" There were 1100 when the Hometown Stores were spun off from Sears Holdings in 2012. As mentioned previously, there were 491 remaining when Lampert bought it out in 2019. At the time the BOD was looking at shutting all the stores down, as it was obvious the company was going nowhere. But Eddie wouldn't have it. He prefers to ki-l a company slowly. He's made the death of Sears/Kmart into the longest going out of business sale in corporate history.

Most of their facebook pages have no update since July 19. It looks like there were corporate updates made periodically but they stopped on that date.

Also noticed that all the 'buy a sears stores' are off the list except 2 in Oregon (it was 18 a few weeks ago).

Appears to me that they don't want to leave any footprints. LOL

I guess they still haven’t right-sized their store footprint
