My coworker got let go at 8 am. Anyone else?

I also got an IM and was terminated. And was by my direct manager which I thought was odd as I always thought it was someone outside your direct reporting. Anyway, I am a long term employee in the GRP. And I wanted so am very happy at the moment.

Can people disclose how they were contacted? Sorry to hear the bad news btw. At least there is some closure. I personally haven't been able to sleep properly over the last several weeks since the leak.

I think most of the replies are BS. Start posting what org you are in. If you are being fired, what are they going to do to you? Fire you again?
I'm sorry to all those going through this. I hope everyone affected lands on their feet, and finds a better job where you're not treated like garbage.
I've been helping a close friend who got laid off from a Fintech company and did notice there are a cr-p ton of good jobs out there right now. I know it can be stressful to get laid off like this with minimal notice, but there are good options out there, keep your head up high. I respect everyone who doesn't deserve this and I wish you the best. I haven't seen anything yet, but I'm ready to go if the time comes.
Mine is at 930. Friends at 8 and another at noon. All 30+ folks so far.
2 folks in my, now former group, got axed. I'm one of them. Both of us GRP. As far as I can tell, no FRP got booted.
