Does tenure even matter? Less than a year of being hired on, and I’ll likely be let go this week.

Man this was my first job too, and already have to go back to the job hunting loop...
There was only one hush-hush HTHD in our group. Note the was. He got tapped today.
I reached 20 Years last month. Promised HTHD next year...and fired today. No one even asked what I was working on or inventing for Ford. The google take over is nearly complete and Jim let it happen.

If you join the 1:1 and someone from HR is there... that's the end of the line. Check the invite list. (Of course, it may just be you and your 1 over right now)
Don’t be so sure yet. Your direct manager doesn’t usually give you the message. In the past it has come from your LL3 or 4 and you get notified of an immediate meeting. Good luck to all.
Agreed @mdy+1ildyJZP. But in managements eyes no one would see the meeting notices until Monday because everyone would be at the Dream Cruise all weekend trying to get a pic with CarCar and other LL, and lets not forget Leno
I find the timing of the email this morning to be abhorrent considering that some got the meeting notices yesterday. Absolutely scummy that they couldn't get in front of things but I'm not surprised considering what has transpired thus far.
Trust me its good for you move on and learn something! Why did you even toke the job at Ford? Want to work for Bill and Jim? Really! Just think if you would of burned 10 years at Ford got older learned nothing and then were let go !

Mine showed up at 12:30 AM set for first thing in the AM. 23 years. Half my life. I knew it was coming yet still devastated.
