Thread regarding CVS layoffs

It's only when you leave that you see how miserable this place is

I don't know anyone whose life hasn't improved since leaving this company. It seems to me that this much disorganization is hard to find in other companies?

Left 2 years ago after 14 years as a manager...haven't looked back. Will not go back to CVS even for double what I make now. Stores look like cr-p, extremely understaffed, dingy, dirty. Miss my crew(s). No more no less. No accountability in the company except at the store level. Corporate buyers have no clue what to buy next. I have always compared CVS to a "rich kid that doesn't know what to buy next." One year it's electronics, the next a new "sure to sell" item etc. No direction and too many chiefs and not enough braves in corporate. Everything is the next "hot product" and no moderation with overstock. 14 years ago the company actually listened and cared...until Larry.

Leaving CVS is like taking the best sh-t of your life. Getting all those toxins out of your lower bowel is such a relief.

Hey "DL" as a store manager for 26 years who dealt with CVS "DL's" for 13 of those. Working for CVS is ABSOLUTELY like being in an abusive, toxic relationship. The tactic used by CVS field leadership to motivate or to encourage is 100% intimidation and fear. The "we can find someone else" and the "they leave but most come back" mentality is absolutely how they feel. The funny part is look at the turnover rate for field leadership at CVS, it's worst than store level. That's because it comes from the top, down. The pay is good, buy I left 3 years ago and not once do I regret leaving. I am amused at how the stores I walk into now resemble a family dollar, with no associates..but then again I'm sad for the people that have been sold all the talking points and lies that get up every day and go work for a company that could care less about their associates.

Get out while you can. They say the grass isn't always greener, but with leaving CVS it actually will be.

: @1ceg+1ihwjj6J,
I'm from the CVS side of the company. Got 40 yrs in and that's what I've been saying for years ! It is like getting out of a "abusive relationship" ! Glad, I'm not the only one that see it for what it is !! I was brainwashed and gas lighted but, not anymore, retired living the good life now ( without CVS)......

I've been told on the coram side, when you finally leave, it feels like getting out of an abusive relationship with a life partner you thought you couldn't live without, you don't know how toxic it is until you're out
