Thread regarding 2U Inc. layoffs

Currently in a degree program, worried about layoffs

I’m working in marketing and currently in a masters program that I am getting reimbursed by 2U. Does anyone who has been laid off/know someone who has been laid off, know what happens next?

Tuition forgiveness, to me, applies to the 2 year commitment after you’ve finished your degree, not to those who are currently in school. Any ideas?

Agree with prior post about past lay offs. Whatever you do, make sure it is in writing about forgive and that it's included in your severance agreement. Have a lawyer review it to ensure you are cleared. I was released from the non-compete when I was laid off, but I already fulfilled my degree payback.

I don't know anyone in this situation for the current layoffs, but in the past when they've let people go, 2U does not ask the employee to repay the tuition that they have already paid, but they usually stop payments for future tuition. So if you wanted to continue with the program, you'd have to pay out of pocket.
