Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

"Badges? We don't need no stinkin' red badges!"

My so called people "leader" apparently has a covert job function (she is a sales manager) that does not include any presence on the sales floor or even knowledge of the store's inventory or condition.

When she is spotted, it is always with her personal cell phone to her ear. She even does her part for loss prevention by sitting in a fitted room. Must be in deep conversation with loss prevention on the other end..
She does put in lots of time in the office doing the important work of management (and lunch)

Her own people leader (store manager) seems equally oblivious.

I would be more willing to overlook this negligence if I was not making the same
$15/hour as our high school new hires. After 10 years of employment, my increase to $15 was sold as a positive rather than what is reality a step backwards to the bottom.

Oh the magic of Macy's!

Macy’s will be hit with a major age discrimination law suit. Some big time attorney will eventually jump on Macy’s corporate like a barracuda.

It's not about being babysat, it's about seeing your leader roll up their sleeves and work alongside you, giving them a little credibility when they ask you to do something and showing they have your back.

I had to take a pay cut when I came back from Covid just to keep my job. Then they gave me back .30 cents of the 1.45 an hr they took from me. Them they changed my job description and threw me into cr---y shifts and move me around to departments when the id--ts who are making the same as me don't show up for work . Last Saturday we had 3 call outs in the same department. Why can these id--ts get away with this stuff all the time. I know why because stupid me fills in the dummy call out shifts. The Sales managers are useless. The way they shift schedules and move around people who constantly call off and should be fired. Ridiculous

facts macys does not want old folks anymore working there.. they want young d-mb kids who dont know what they doing or even care.. its all to make it look good for the shareholders..

At least you’re getting paid the same as new hires. At my store, the new no experience hires are making $17-$19 a hour while I’m making $16.
