"Everyone knows Shell pay a high variable pay." Except when they don't. LIKE 2020 WHEN BEN FU---D EVERYONE (except Trading) on principle.

@ozov+1iepJpkg,
"you're" inability to distinguish homonyms is staggering. I am truly staggered. I literally stagger as I type this. I hope I don't fall over, I'm staggering so much.
- Nope, nope, I just fell because of your second grade spelling skills. Also your underdeveloped, literalistic, analytical skills. Are you by any chance a D&I promotee, because nothing makes one's sense of morality less attuned to nuance than the free ride our D&I compatriots get. If you can spell "you're" (id--t) name and check a few boxes on a self ID form, you can get all sorts of perqs, like priority parking or my line manager's job.
Right, we were owed it last year
What’s the rule of thumb for amount of the SRA?
"This is money that we were OWED last year."
You're lack of self-awareness is staggering. You are not "owed" anything, unless you were promised extra money by your manager that never came through (which I doubt is the case). You just feel because Shell always paid 5% - 8% raises that they were "obligated" to do so in 2020 and 2021 as well.
If you feel like you are underpaid, find another job.
I don't need Suze Orman now that I have your sage wisdom putting me on the path to financial self-righteousness, my Muppety friend. Thanks for all the uninformed judgment, Ms Come to Jesus! But isn't that exactly the point? If Shell has low base and high bonus, doesn't that make knowing when the money is going to be paid critical to the plan? This is money that we were owed last year.
And what did your friends tell you about planning for an unexpected surge in inflation? Groceries, gas, medical, tuition, property tax? All that godda-n money socked away for years in untouchable college and retirement accounts and every bill going up NOW. Stock market down 1000 today. Should I sell my house this weekend because I can't plan on when I'm going to get a check I've been promised?
Everyone knows Shell pays a low base pay and a high variable pay. You should be living your lifestyle based on your base pay and use your variable pay for saving/investing and maybe some mad spending. And in those sucky years when Shell decides not to pay a bonus, you can still make those tuition payments, mortgage payments, car payments, etc.
If you are stressing out right now because Ben didn't deliver you an SRA check on the same day he made the announcement, it's time for some Suze Orman or David Ramsey in your life.
Disappointed? No. I celebrated. Why would I be disappointed? I like checking my bank balance unnecessarily because nobody can give me the fu----g date.
Received my bonus SRA tomorrow in my paycheck. Hourly peon here.
Living paycheck to paycheck?
Inflation is real. The sh---y raise this year was real. The bullsh-t in 2021 where Shell reneged on bonuses and cut raises was real. D&I is real.
Godda-n straight I'm living paycheck to paycheck.
Sounds like some people are scarily living paycheck-to-paycheck........
When will it show up? Why won't they tell us WHEN? This is fu----g 2021 all over again!
No worries, it will show up - probably.
But another lesson that you shouldn’t commit to spend in reliance on an unrealized windfall.
As they said during interrogations in the Middle Ages: “Don’t hatched your Counts before they chicken.”
Hey, it's the thought that counts. And all of the publicity.
I guess it will show up at the end of the month?
