Is Sedgewick any good? I heard they are difficult to work with. I will be having surgery soon and i expect this process to be a mess. Any thoughts/advise?

Kiss your job goodbye then. If you can ever get a hold of them for LoA, and they DO approve it, you're not even guaranteed the same job when you come back. Just a Job that pays similarly.
Record date and time of call, who you spoke to, take detailed notes and make sure you understand everything they tell you. Once you start with them, don’t involve store managers or SSA (they may not give you accurate information or just confuse things). Do exactly as Sedgewick says and you should be fine.
