Located in Canada and was affected by WFR in Aug.2020 with 3 years tenure. Received 15 weeks severance; know others that were impacted as well: 10 years got 30 weeks, 13 years got 39 weeks. But Canada's laws are different from the US.

Its country law dependent. In Spain for example is 20 days per month up to 12 months OTE. Or if you dispute then it can be up to 45 days per month up to a maximum of 24 months.
If you have worked for the company for more than 10 years and they chop you at 55 or over, they have to pay you 75% of your salary until retirement or you get another job.

The UK package was roughly as stated in a previous post, although it is limited to a maximum payment equivalent to 12 months OTE. So if you have more than 12 years service, the extra years don't count.

Too bad I don’t live in the UK. In the US, standard is 2 months pay + 1 weeks pay for every year served. Bonus payout is typically based on when you’re laid off. I haven’t seen bonus payouts for people laid off between April and August. Not sure about Cobra/continuing health care benefits. As stated by someone else, no payout of vacation or PWT time if in Texas. CA and MA residents do get vacation and PWT pay (for unused time).

Lol uhh old EMC walked you out the door and that was it. You get a meeting scheduled that morning. Director or manager says cya. Then they walk you out.

In the UK it's one month's OTE pay for each years service plus notice period (3 months) plus outstanding holiday.

Dell and EMC are the only companies I know that lay you off and you're gone in two or more weeks. We want to lay you off...but not so fast. Most places are like, pack your stuff and they walk you out the door. You make an appointment to come back and get personal stuff you left behind.

In Texas I got shagged. 2 day notice, no vacation payout, prorated bonus payout which amounted to sweet FA. Cheap bastids. Am glad I was laid off. I now work less hours, earn about 30% more and get stock. Nice to be out of a sweatshop where so called managers don't know anything except kissing up

No severance package I guess you get a one way ticket to unemployment.

They have to save the money for my yearly bonus.

Get to work slackers.

The word Redundancy sounds like EMEA , Severance package in the States probably totally different .

There really isn’t a standard one. When they laid off in Sept, 2020, they paid benefits through the end of the year, and 75% of the IBP. They gave employees about 2 weeks notice; at least in HR, anyway. Accrued vacation/personal wellness time payout depends on which state you are located. If in Texas, you aren’t paid for either. Cali gets at least vacation, perhaps PWT, too. If you go into MyHR and look up leave time, you should be able to find the grid that lists the states and policies.
