Corporate down to regional scratching their heads trying to figure out why engagement scores are low. Why associates don’t feel good about company. Here’s a non masters degree, non P.H.D. Food for thought answer. John Legend appearance google it approximately $1 miilion dollars for a couple hours of songs and rubbing elbows with CVS higher ups. While at store level air conditioning not working, registers broken down, hours given out can’t even support 2 human beings in a 10,000 ft store. It’s an absolute joke that are corporate office can spread there Bull sh-t of heart of service you spoke we listened. Here’s one of your p-e-ons doing some simple math for you $1,000,000 for John legend would equal 66,667 hours at store level at $15 cashier rate. Karen let that soak in a bit. Then ask yourself the question why doesn’t associates feel valued or why wouldn’t they recommended cvs to others to work here. This is only common sense from a high school graduate.

The engagement survey is a joke, they say anonymous. That is funny as they know who did the survey and what each persons response is. Don't ever put anything negative in the survey unless you are leaving, they will find a way to come after you.
Corporate isn’t trying to figure out why the engagement is low because they don’t care. They never have, and never will. The only purpose the engagement survey serves is to point blame on store managers and pharmacy managers and to limit performance ratings.
I worked at CVS Corporate in the pharmacy call center for prescriptions and they have to abide by HIPAA Laws which I understand because if they don’t they can get sued. There was one incident where I forgot to verify date of birth so all of the managers and pharmacy managers and some higher ups all sat in a room deciding whether or not to fire me. My manager said one woman manager who sounded like she may have been a director or executive. It seemed she was in a high position wanted to fire me but my manager managed to talk her out of It because I was new and still in training. I mean they spend a lot of time in the conference room deciding who to fire if the employee messes up. I personally think they only need like 3 people to decide that not 20.They should utilize their employees and managers on making retail and pharmacy sales. And CVS can make money and not have to lay off
Anyone wishing to advance at CVS must be in one of the popular clicks. I am in Corporate and see it every day. We pay our nurses and store employees next to nothing, yet we keep creating advancement for people who are connected…product, marketing, account management, etc—if you are friends with a VP, you will advance. If not, good luck.
To the person saying if we looked at cvs as more than a job we'd all move up the ranks. That is laughable. Many of us worked 24/7 for years, working sick, injured, never calling in, doing special projects, being innovative, for decades. They laid us off. Don't look at a job as more than a job. CVS has now taught us that. Hard painful lesson.
Anyone that wants to advance upwards thru the ranks is welcome to…it is a perk of making the effort to look at cvs as more than just a job…
I say..good for them hope they had fin
Company sucks. Quit and get a better job.
Engagement at CVS was always inflated to begin with. People were pressured to give good ratings so DMs would look good. People have always hated working for CVS. Right now they just stopped lying about it.
The majority of people running this company don’t understand we are now staffing our stores with anyone that will work for us. We don’t train them hardly at all so all your algorithms around how long it should take to accomplish a task are way off. You need to recalibrate for our current talent.
Sorry to say but anyone still with CVS things are going to get worse again this fall. The company has been making hiring almost impossible and we aren’t ready to support flu season.
The leadership that gets ahead at CVS and are running things is largely made up of soulless\heartless robotic managers. They will regurgitate the corporate vision at all costs. They don’t think for themselves or dare to have an opposite opinion. This is at the core of the CVS problem. If your entire culture isn’t built on empathy and engagement it doesn’t matter what you say no one will want to work at CVS.
Thank you Karen go back to getting your nails done
You realize 1 million dollars across the company equates to 8 minute of extra payroll per store per week? Also $15/hr isn’t the average cashier pay, it’s much higher. Which means it’s likely much less.
If you want an extra 8 minutes of payroll, I approve it.
You just ki---d me high school grad. My store used $250k in payroll last year. Lol I should have learned to sing better. That dude made what my store will spend in front store over 4 years in a few hours.
Well it's good to know, even though they had to lay off 3500 Coram employees, because of financial reasons, they had enough to pay John Legend a million dollars an hour.
