Store Closings List 2023

I wonder which stores are getting the axe this next inevitable round of closure after the holidays?
Ones I know:
Chesterfield, MO
Livingston NJ
Mays Landing Nj

The remaining neighborhood stores I’m assuming are all going to be on this list?

I would assume Logan Valley Mall in Altoona, PA will be getting the axe. They could almost move to one floor. They are laying rugs on the floor to make the second floor look like it’s being used.

Logan Valley -- Altoona, PA. Our "people leader" told us to expect the announcement after the holidays.

LOL, I’m in a neighborhood store. There were times I honestly thought we were a “goner”! I sometimes still wonder how we slid under the wire. Especially with the receipts we receive!!!
Anyway, we (Like everyone, got the Toy’s R Us package) talk is that we’ll eventually be getting a Backstage. It wouldn’t surprise me in the LEAST, after spending the all that money like Macy’s freely does, for itself and not the employees, that they’d STILL close us before the 1st coat of Backstage blue dries on the paint roller!!!

Fulfillment is going on in a lot of stores right now. Decreasing floor space. It’s not uncommon for larger stores to even block off entire floors now. I think that’s a bit absurd. I’ve noticed customers like the vast selection of merchandise that we used to have. Dillards and Boscovs do that right.

All remains to be seen. Monmouth Mall Macys is undergoing a lot of work including flooring and Fulfillment expansion. I really don’t think they will close that one although the mall is definitely in need of help. Maybe if they follow the model that Ocean County Mall in Toms River just went through it would help to some degree. There is a medical center near Boscovs now plus talk of apartments or some other housing which is weird. Brunswick from what I keep hearing is making their numbers they’ve been rumored about for years now as a potential closing site.

They are actively reviewing the store portfolio and deciding which stores to add or subtract from the neighborhood store list. It all depends now on which stores make their numbers. Chesterfield Mall Macy's wasn't originally on the list however it got added a month ago. Brunswick Square might be taken off the list since that store is owned plus it recently has been reaching it sales goals. On the other hand, I wouldn't be surprised if Monmouth Mall, Boulevard Mall and Sunrise Mall (Massapequa) got added to the list due to those current mall situations.
