Have any of you worked for a company that was worse than Citrix in any way? I haven't. Every aspect of working here is by far the worst I've experienced in my 17-year-long career. From politics to a highly toxic work environment to management that treats employees like dirt... I joined because it meant a 15% pay bump for me. Now I'd take double that in a loss just to leave.

As someone who left Citrix, for what I thought was a better opportunity, I will say Citrix was definitely not a bad place to work.
Why don’t you come back then, and I can switch to your position :p
I left Citrix in 2020. There were several regimes in Citrix in my years there. While the day-to-day interactions changed, generally speaking the culture was surprisingly positive and slow to bend to the PE overlords. I've worked at other places and have seen far more back-stabbing. Its all relative I suppose.
The changes started when the core business got into trouble, and the exec team started impacting the culture without really having a clue as on the business strategy. The initial euphoria of COVID creating new demand gave into the realization that the short-pop was just kicking the can down the road for a few quarters. So when reality set in, all they knew was cut corners on the operations and blow smoke up to the market. There was no retrospection on what the strategy should be. Too many entrenched power positions had made the bet on VDI, DaaS, Workspace, and its ill-fated stepchild, intelligent workspace. And leadership, having no clue of what really customers want, kept propagating the story.
I suspect by now its gotten worse since the business has really not found the way out of its doldrums.
I wish all Citrites the best. Hope the new-new regime will clear the cobwebs, bring focus and update the strategic direction. In the meantime, there are plenty of jobs in companies that do have a clear strategy.
Maybe you were the problem? Jesus people here like to complain.
Just leave already.

Hands down, financial institutions (BofA, JPM, Citi, Wells) are much worse that this place if you are in "tech."
Machiavellian washing machines
Those new hires that joined Citrix over the last year were often told things during the interview process that were untrue. Now, once the truth is known, they'll regret that they didn't ask more probing questions of the hiring manager about what to expect.
Remorse is to be expected. Sorry to say, but the new hire's regret was predictable.
Unfortunately it’s bad but there are worse companies.

Yes! A couple of places that were worse. Politics, Backstabbing, The "Peter Principle" applies and made it far worse than here, I only stayed 1.5 years at that company (pay was extremely good - not worth the headaches. Unfortunately it happens here too, just not as bad!
I actually enjoyed working here the most out of any of the 4 companies I worked for. Was in support.
