It may be time to remove some of the 55+!older employees, the poor market conditions is a perfect excuse to do this.
They must be good at it by now, have a system in place.

I would think again about retirement plans, at 55 stuff happens. Your health could go downhill, Williams may have to downsize and they may hit 55 year and olders very hard. It would be wise to save as much as possible and if you can work longer than 55 that would be as bonus. Things don’t always go as planned. At 55 job market May dry up for you due to age discrimination as well, openings may be low paying and/or sh-t jobs that nobody else wants.
55 yo employees often are in their prime. My boss was 50 and hoped she would stay for a long time but she got sick of Williams BS last yr. I am 45 but have no plans to retire at 55. I didn’t even know the business as well until I was 35. None of our Exec team are retiring and many of them are at the 50 or 60 mark.
Lol, always a reason to fire older employees.
Given the good times a 55 year old worker bee has seen if they still have to work than the problem is theirs not the companies. A 55 year old has lived through the two longest lasting bull markets in history, been able to my a home, car, date and divorce for far less than people under 45 will ever see. Time to punch the clock for the last time and enjoy the time you have left with your friends, family, pets, legalized pot and 4 bedroom house in the burbs.
