Services is going to InfoSys???
I'm amazed they were able to get that domain name.
The good news is the name is temporary. The pieces will be hacked in 1-2 years.
This is perhaps the best analogy for the new name yet! Seriously, it's like a smorgasbord of stuff that looks even more fragmented and disjointed when presented in literally the industry's most boring, unoriginal, and likely temporary name - like most of the BU's in this "group" are probably going to be as they go through the inevitable cutting to the bone. But I mean, they weren't going to spend millions on rebranding or marketing since they're trying to save money and they literally are starting out in the ho-e, so this generic black-and-white label of a name for this collection of companies is somehow fitting.
At least some good use of the domain name... I remember the time when Citrix paid $200M for the domain name and the tiny bit of software that came with it...
Good luck to the JV team that's running the shop...
Pitiful, as expected. I always wondered why the Citrix CMO was complaining that the company had zero credibility and mind share as a cloud provider, but they didn't use the cloud.com domain for marketing purposes, just as a landing page for customers to log-in to the Citrix Cloud platform. Calling them 'inept' is being too kind.
Part of the reason they landed on the stupid name was the cloud.com domain that was acquired at an absurd price tag by Templeton. That makes the Citrix story and brand easier to describe to your grandma, right?
Fun fact - the purchase of this domain and adoption of the business strategy was supported by that group of Devs that hung out on the 1st floor of 6363 in FTL and played ping pong in their bare feet. It looked like a scene straight off an episode of Silicon Valley. That effort and team didn’t last as long as the show. A classic Citrix memory.
It's Cloud Software Group Holdings, Inc. Per the bottom of this new Wix website that his nephew threw together in between his Algebra and PE class this morning. Let's get this right for accuracy.
