The problem is that every year the company "readjusts" the baseline. For instance, when they first instituted the whole "successful performer" category, it immediately meant you could no longer compare year over year. Even before that, every cycle brought different guidance on what a 4.0 meant and the leaders had to go through a lot to get them approved - rigorous justification was demanded. Comparing your score against previous years was already invalid back in 2016 and it never got better.
somebody has to like you enough to go thru the whole stupid process with all the mo--ns above you. That's how I got above average a couple of years in a row and a promotion eventually. It takes time but you really need someone to believe enough in you to help you.
And they told me not everyone said yes but enough did to carry me over the hump.
Yep. I got screwed over one year and made a big deal about it. I didn’t do half as much the following year but got a high performer rating. I think it was just because my people leader felt bad about it.
