As strange as it sounds, I sometimes get the feeling that the management has long been working on lowering employee morale. Why? I do not know. Maybe so that as many of us as possible leave the company without severance.
Whatever the state of the job market is and no matter how hard it is to get a better job because the competition is great, I will not be happy at all if I survive these cuts.

I agree and they’ll replace your job with a much less experienced person who’s willing to work for a much lower wage.
