No way. Apple gets parts from whoever they want at very low price. Nothing for them to gain by buying Intel other then a big fat bloated headache.

@2yhh+1iVq12RD is a damn mo--n. The post in @1wvu+1iVq12RD clearly meant to say the equipment will move out of Taiwan during the war

So glad I am not at Intel now, sounds like they hire id--ts now.

Actually thrilled by this idea. Just like when Apple buy Intel 5G, all the Intel employees will be interviewed to decide if they could be hired or fired, glad to see all the dead meat are trimmed. hahaha

Never going to happen. Way too much baggage associated with physical properties (fabs) and all the financial liabilities (and employees) they require. x86 obviously isn't their bag anymore (the conversion to M series clinches that). Why retreat now?

I, too, wonder about the general intelligence of Intel doofuses. Particularly the one that wrote about shifting machines out of Taiwan, then proceeding to call everyone doofuses for saying that is ridiculous.

Don't get butthurt now. You are the one that said equipment would be moved. Literally says so in your post.

For those of you still befuddled by simple concepts, an occupied Taiwan won’t get any external dollars from Apple, Qualcomm, Nvidia etc. TSMC is winning because their customers are bankrolling them.

The customers will simply shift their investments to Samsung after sustaining a year or two of transition. Unlike Intel, these players have rapid design cycles and can turn on a dime.

Last time I checked , China isn’t in a position to invade Europe and get litho machines.

NEW equipment genius.

Of course ASML will ban exports to an occupied Taiwan. They won’t be able to sustain any future development effectively neutering them.

Sometimes I wonder about the general intelligence of Intel doofuses.

@1wvu+1iVq12RD Moving billions of dollars of microlithography equipment from Taiwan to South Korea while the PLA is invading Taiwan would be quite a feat! Care to share with the rest of the class how that would be done?

Remember: These very large, precision machines need to be moved while a massive combined arms operation is happening throughout Taiwan, by a numerically superior invader who very much wants those very large, precision machines to stay put.

Why would Apple wanted buy Intel? Intel has nothing Apple wanted. Good tries.

Apple is already regretting buying Intels modem division. You want apple to buy the complete shitshow. 🤣

why not ask Apple to also pay 1000% premium so all intel employees can retire?

If Taiwan was invaded, all equipment and investment would shift to Korea (Samsung).

Intel is behind them as well.
Intel is done.

The only reason why they would do this is because the CCP invaded Taiwan (TSMC) and TSMC's fabs were scuttled in a self-sabotage operation. Pat Gelsinger is on the phone with Xi Jinping as we speak.

Apple doesn’t want Intel’s outdated, slow and hot technology.

TSMC all the way.

Nobody is going to buy Intel expect for us taxpayers.

Intel's market cap is $110 billion.

Per https://ycharts.com/companies/AAPL/cash_on_hand, Apple has less than $50 billion on hand now.

How will this all-cash acquisition work?
