Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

Citrix, Security

Would you accept a job at Citrix right now given all the uncertainty and the ongoing PE play that's never a happy story. Let's say the pay is really good.

Security is an old reliable now at this stage. A lot of headcount is frozen so if a team is allowed hire, then it should be fairly safe. I'm not on here to complain, just curious as to whats going on in other locations, but I'm aware that this website can be a pit of negativity and is not representative of the ethos, culture, and mindset of the Citrix people you would meet on a day to day basis. There's always one as----e in the office. And they probably post here. Da---t - does that make me the as----e?!? hahe

If your being offered a job right now, then it’s for a team that is hiring and so you don’t have any uncertainty on future about your role or likely team.

It’s hard to say whether it would be a good move for you. It’s true there’s a lot of uncertainty. If you can’t handle that, then the answer is probably “no”.

However, if it is a very big step in compensation for you and you can handle the uncertainty, then you may want to consider it. In my experience, recruiters are looking for tech talent that wants to flee Citrix (even companies that are supposedly downsizing are hiring). If you could entertain those recruiters from a stronger position by accepting, it may be a good move. Of course, your family situation and whether you need to relocate affect all of this as well.

Good luck, whatever you decide, and know that there are good and talented people at Citrix.

Previous posts have it exactly right. NO CLUE what the 2023 comp plans are going to look like. And with all the nods at extreme cost cutting that's going to happen I don't get a lot of warm and fuzzies regarding 2023 comp packages being overly competitive to what's out there.

Having said that, if the current offer/title is higher then it may be worth the move for you regardless. I'd certainly take a Citrix role if I was helpdesk at some non IT company right now.

We don't know the future comp with RSUs gone and bonus unknown. This could all change in 2023. The current offers are with the old comp and a small one time bonus.

No way. Citrix is dying. The BU is going to be sold off eventually.

NO, to much of a toxic environment, and the security play is marketing BS.
